WHY DID MMA SELECT MHBT?

MMA was looking for a prominent middle-market firm to lead its US expansion in the Southwest and was drawn to MHBT’s strong regional presence, top-notch leadership, entrepreneurial culture and dominance in both the property & casualty and employee benefits business.

WHAT IS MMA?

Marsh & McLennan Agency (MMA) was created in 2008 as a separate operating subsidiary of Marsh LLC, the world’s leading global insurance broker and risk management advisor, primarily to serve the property & casualty and employee benefits needs of the middle market. Since November 2009, MMA has been building its national platform by strategically partnering with high quality insurance and consulting firms across the country.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF BEING PART OF MMA?

Joining MMA allows MHBT to keep its leadership, service model and culture in place, while adding the support and resources of the world’s leading insurance broker and risk management advisor.

For MHBT, this transition is an opportunity to grow and help our clients grow. It is not about consolidation or cost reduction.

For clients, joining MMA enables us the ability to preserve and strengthen our service ethic while offering a wider range of solutions, more specialized expertise and more resources to invest in technology and people.

For associates, there will be more opportunities for career advancement in a firm that will benefit from fast-growing markets in the Texas and Southwestern U.S. regions. No positions will be eliminated as a result of this transaction.

WILL MHBT’S COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT CHANGE?

No. The firm will continue its commitment to communities. In fact, we anticipate increasing funding to existing community programs as well as awarding grants in new markets as a result of the firm’s subsequent growth.

WHAT ROLE WILL MHBT PLAY WITHIN MMA?

MHBT will serve as the hub for Texas and the Southwest and will focus on growing operations and acquiring partner firms within the region. Headquarters for MMA’s Southwest Region will be based out of MHBT’s Dallas location.

WILL ANY JOBS BE LOST AS A RESULT OF THIS TRANSACTION?

No positions will be lost directly due to this acquisition. We expect no changes to our current operating structure or service teams. Clients, vendors and community partners can continue to work with their MHBT points of contact as they have in the past. No contact information has changed.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE OWNERSHIP STRUCTURE?

As an MMA company, MHBT’s current ownership model will dissolve. Bill Henry will remain CEO, Dan Browning will remain as President, Robbie Smith will remain COO and Mike Harris will continue as CAO.

WILL THE MHBT NAME CHANGE?

Yes. Our new name is MHBT, a Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC company. We will still be referred to commonly as "MHBT."
