The mission of MHBT Risk Management is to assist our clients in maximizing the effectiveness of their risk management strategies.
Avoiding Risk - This is a viable risk management technique but one that is often impractical for commercial clients.
Controlling Risk - Loss prevention is the effort to reduce frequency; loss reduction is the effort to reduce severity. Through the efforts of our loss control professionals working with you, your staff and the insurance carrier, we identify loss exposures via surveys, claims histories, flow charts, personal inspections and allied experts.
Retaining Risk - Retention of risk includes:
-
Current expensing of losses
-
Funded or un-funded reserves
-
Borrowed funds
-
Alternative Risk (Captive) arrangements
We give you the tools to recognize your loss exposures and to consciously decide how to fund them.
Transferring Risk - Transfer of risk can include contracts and/or insurance. We can assist you in interpreting and understanding your non-insurance contracts by assessing what you are assuming from a liability standpoint and how these assumptions may or may not be covered by your financing arrangements or insurance policy. We can help clarify negligence clauses, additional insured and waiver of subrogation clauses.
Insurance - We are your advocate in coverage issues with insurers.
